Top seed Jannik Sinner follows with a testing clash against Alexei Popyrin, while American No. 3 seed Coco Gauff meets Donna Vekic in a highly anticipated battle.
At Louis Armstrong Stadium, 10th seed Lorenzo Musetti takes on Belgian veteran David Goffin in the opening match. Naomi Osaka, seeded 23rd and looking to continue her strong return, faces Hailey Baptiste in a match sure to attract attention.

Third seed Alexander Zverev then meets Jacob Fearnley, before eighth seed Amanda Anisimova plays Maya Joint to round off the session.

Later, doubles action sees Venus Williams and Leylah Fernandez take on Lyudmyla Kichenok and Ellen Perez, with the day closing as 26th seed Stefanos Tsitsipas battles Daniel Altmaier.
